It appears that the link from Zen Group of Pittsburgh goes to a business site and not the zen group site. Does this need fixing?
No…that is correct. The Zen Group of Pittsburgh provided us that website.
If they supplied that site either:
(1) You have to question their discrimination
(2) You should label this page, “Anything Marketed as Buddhist”
(3) Recheck to see if someone made a mistake.
It is cheezy and goes against the intend of this whole site. It was kind of JB to point it out.
Hello. My first visit to the site. Wonderful work…..I attempted to use the link for Laughing Rivers Sangha and found it to be incorrect. The correct address is http://www.laughingrivers.org
are there any nichiren buddhist groups located in the urban pittsburgh area? thanks,
There is an SGI center http://www.sgi-usa.org/sgilocations/results_details.php?id=58&dist=
they are the only group that I am aware of. I follow a form of Buddhism partly based off of Nichiren’s teachings, but my group does not have a center here…I have to travel.
um trying to stay away from the SGI–I’ve heard some very bad things about them, but they are the only nicheren group that seems to be present in pittsburgh.
Hello, everyone. I just recently moved to Pittsburgh, from Florida. I am attending University and seeking some knowledge from any sangha willing to help. I have been toiling over the concept of Anatta for many months. Could someone please direct me? Is there a community who can expand my understanding?
I not to mention my buddies have been studying the nice key points located on your web site and then suddenly I had a horrible feeling I had not expressed respect to the web site owner for those tips. All of the people came as a result excited to see them and now have extremely been having fun with those things. Many thanks for genuinely indeed accommodating and also for making a decision on this form of tremendous ideas most people are really eager to discover. Our honest apologies for not expressing appreciation to earlier
Is there a “Pure Land” or Shin Buddhist group in Pittsburgh.
There may be a Pure Land group in the area. Not EVERY group participates with the Buddhist Society of Pittsburgh. Nevertheless, all the Pure Land and Shin Buddhists I have met locally attend other temples do to their perception that there are too few of them in the local geography to coordinate their own temple.
Looking for a Buddhist Temple with a Thai Monk in Western Pa., or Ohio
Contact the monks at the Pittsburgh Buddhist Center. There are two Thai temples in the area.. one in Homestead (Mahayana) and one in Pittsburgh (Theravada)
